Grocer, farmer, and meat market/butcher and cattle buyer. Was taught meat cutting by his Aunt Allie Travis., and that was his occupation for most of his life. Daughter Edith told of trip with him on the train to buy cattle in St. Joseph, Mo. to buy live cattle to take back to Peru to butcher and sell in his grocery store. (about 1913)
Moved to California to be with two sons there after death of second husband. Died there, but buried in Peru Cemetary.
