"Dad and Mom moved to Illinois in either 1938 or 1939. Dad got a job with the railroad. Cecil(his brother) and wife Freda were already living here. They lived first at Peoria and the moved to Middlegrove after a few months. They lived in Middlegrove the rest of their lives. Dad got a job with the Midland mine and he worked at the mine until retiring. He retired young. Mom never worked outside the home. They farmed for several years with Cecil. They rented the ground they farmed. About a year and a half after Dad retired Mom started having problems. We finally found out it was Alzhemers disease that was bothering her" wrote Marie.
"Mom was the greatest Mother and Grandmother. Her family was her whole life." wrote Marie.
