Manuel suffered a massive stroke on 24 June 2004. Once admitted to the hospital little could be done. He passed away at 7:04 PM, 26 June 2005 with his wife, son Rori and daughter Elenita. Son Takeo and daughter Conchita had visited him in the hospital and arrived shortly after his death. Son Thomas was in Hawaii and arrived at the hospital about 1:15 AM the next morning. The body was creaminated in Los Angeles and the ashes were taken to Guam for burial.
A memorial service was held on 30 June 2005 in the home of son Takeo. A more formal service is to be held in Guam in late July 2005. Source: Personal knowledge of R. Glenn York, present for many of the events.
